Why is Measure J
on the ballot again?
Every day, the value of Measure J is proven in Palm Springs.
Strict citizen oversight and thoughtful budgeting have made Measure J the most reliable and effective funding source for our City.
But Measure J is scheduled to expire in 2037. That may sound like far in the future, but it really is not.
Palm Springs needs an extension of the Measure J sales tax.
Essential City investments, such as a needed new Downtown Fire Station, upgrading our Convention Center, a modernized Main Library, or even our annual street improvements, all require long-term reliable revenue streams.
Our City needs bond measures, similar to a 30-year mortgage.
Without Measure J, Palm Springs cannot support the necessary bond funding.
Therefore, a new Measure J is on the November 5, 2024 ballot giving Palm Springs voters the choice to keep in place the 1% local sales tax until voters decide to remove the tax.
Vote YES on Measure J.
